The Good Research Project (TGRP) is a medical research mentorship platform designed to help medical students and early-career doctors learn how to conduct, write, and publish research ethically and confidently. TGRP is a registered medical education entity in India, with students joining from across the world.
We focus on practical, beginner-friendly research training that goes beyond traditional theory-based teaching. Instead of only lectures, TGRP conducts monthly group and batch-based research activities, where students actively work on real research projects—from idea development to publication.
All research activities, mentorship, and collaboration are conducted through the TGRP app, enabling students to participate, learn, and publish research in a structured and supportive environment.

The Good Research Project (TGRP), a pioneering initiative in medical research education was established in May 2022 by Dr. Shreya Deoghare, MBBS, MD DVL (dermatology), our dedicated founder and CEO.
In 2022, several medical students reached out to Dr. Shreya Deoghare on LinkedIn after seeing her posts about published research. Most were USMLE aspirants looking to strengthen their CVs for the residency match process. Despite coming from different colleges, they shared the same challenges—uncertainty about how to start research, lack of mentorship, and confusion around writing and publishing articles.
Unlike medical students in the United States, who are exposed to research early in their training, medical education in India focuses largely on clinical practice, with research teaching remaining mostly theoretical. As a result, students interested in research often struggle to find mentors who can guide them through practical research, article writing, and ethical publication.
To address this gap, the first structured research batch was conducted in July 2022. Students actively worked on real research projects and successfully published their work within a few months.
Encouraged by these results, students began referring to their friends, colleagues, and juniors. TGRP soon expanded to Instagram, where the community continued to grow organically.
What began as a small mentorship effort evolved into The Good Research Project (TGRP)—a student-driven platform built on hands-on learning, ethical research, and real publication outcomes.
TGRP conducts monthly, structured research batches where students actively participate in real research projects. These batches cover multiple article types, including:
Upcoming research topics are regularly shared on our website, social media platforms, and WhatsApp groups, allowing students to choose areas that interest them.
Students who have their own clinical cases can also learn how to write and submit case reports with step-by-step mentorship.
A common question we hear is: “Does this research mentorship actually work?”
Our answer is simple—yes, when students actively participate.
Students who stay engaged, collaborate with mentors, and follow the process consistently see real outcomes, including completed research projects and publications.
